Numbers 14:3 "Why has the Lord brought us to this land to fall by the sword that our wives and children should become victims? Would it not be better to return to Egypt?"
We saw that the people of Israel had experience many miracles and that the Lord provided for their every need, yet at the report of a few men they were thinking of returning to Egypt.
This month I would like to discuss with you the attitude of these people. When did they actually start to return to Egypt? It was the moment that they had an idea in their mind to go back.
It was an idea that they did not reject, and it created an attitude of retreat. They confessed words that did not come from God. To return to Egypt was to deny God and His promises and to not be interested in anything of God. They did have a difficulty ahead of them but returning to Egypt was not the solution.
When they said, "Let's return to Egypt" they allowed their souls to take control of their life.
When our soul takes control, we begin to walk, and we do not know where we are going. When the soul takes control, it destroys the plan of God for your life. We can not allow our souls to rule and let ourselves live by the circumstances. We cannot say, "Today is raining, I am sad. Tomorrow the sun will be shining, and I will be joyful." One day we are up, and the next day we are down. One day we are casting demons and feeling strong. The Other day we are fearful of a bug.
We allow our souls and our attitudes to be affected by what we feel, by what we see, and by what we hear. When we have a challenging circumstance we often are led by our attitudes. As Christians we have been born again by faith, and we should walk by faith. We don't have to ignore what we feel, see, and hear, but we don't live by these. We must live by what the Word of God tell us. The Word of God will tell us what we should do with our circumstances. It's time we recognize that no matter how difficult things are we must believe and obey God.
God did not bring these people out of slavery in Egypt for them to return to a life of bondage. He also did not bring them out of Egypt for them to be destroyed on the way to their Promise Land.
He had prepare this land for them. He had a promise for their provision. My friend, we must not keep our eyes on the circumstances, but we must look at the Word of God. We must believe that the promises that God has given us are going to be fulfilled.
God did not bring you out of your slavery so that you will turn back. An unhappy situation tries to make a different plan than God has prepare for you. When you forget and throw away your promise from God, you loose your inheritance from Him and you loose the future He prepared for you.
If you continue to read in Numbers, Joshua and Caleb, who believed and trusted God, said, I will not turn back!" They inherited the Promise Land.
The land of Egypt, the land of slavery, was not created for you. You are a prince a princess of God.
There is no place in Egypt for a prince or a princess of God. God has prepared better things for you. When the enemy tells you to retreat, he is on the other side. But the land of God has created for you is in front of you. satan only has a promise for your past.
God never has a promise for your past because God knows that your past is dead and gone. He only has a promise for your present and your future. If the enemy says to retreat, then it means that God is telling you, "Come on. Come forward. Continue on the path I have prepared ahead for you."
You need to tell satan, "Ahead of me is the promised land. I will not return. I will not surrender." To return is to obey the voice of satan. Your obedience to God will make the success in your life.
Declare this word with me. I don't give my circumstances and my situations permission to take control of my life. the Word of God has control over my life. I believe and I declare what the Word of God says, and I live according to the revelation of the Word of God in my life.
